![]() ![]() He passed away there on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the age of 20 years. After a tragic accident, Reese sustained injuries and was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Reese was doing that last Saturday evening. Reese loved to spend time with his family and friends. The Cooper family are avid Hawkeye fans and enjoyed going to Iowa Football games in the fall. He had a great sense of humor and a memorable laugh. Reese had a big heart and infectious smile. ![]() Reese was a child of God, who made profession of his faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, Iowa where his family actively attended. If you knew Reese you understood he loved food, cooking, and found enjoyment working at Wasabi Sushi in Waukee and Fleming’s Steakhouse. Reese was currently attending Des Moines Area Community College and planned to graduate from Iowa State University with a degree in sales and marketing. ![]() After graduation, Reese furthered his education by attending Iowa State University and joined the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Reese loved sports and participated in football, baseball, basketball, student council and Best Buddies, while in high school. Reese was educated in the Waukee School District and graduated from Waukee High School with the class of 2020. He was the oldest of three children born to Christopher Scott Cooper and Bethany Jo (Hutchens) Cooper. Reese Michael Cooper was born December 12, 2001, in Chicago, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Boys and Girls Club. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, at 11:00 am at the Lutheran Church of Hope. Visitation with the family present will be Friday, October 7, from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at the Lutheran Church of Hope, West Des Moines. Reese is also survived by his maternal great-grandmother, Betty Gunderman maternal grandfather, Stephen Hutchens maternal grandmother, Rebecca and James Venis of Crawfordsville, Indiana uncle Stephen (Bud) Hutchens II, (Rebekah) Hutchens and their daughter, Kearston aunt Briana (Cory) Woodall, and their children, Tacie, Aubrie, Gage paternal grandparents, Ken and Helen Cooper of Marion, Iowa uncle Corey (Stephanie) Cooper and their children, Zach and Ellie. Those left to cherish his memory are his parents Chris and Bethany Cooper of Clive, his brother, Ryan Cooper and his sister, Rylee Cooper. ![]() ![]()
